Working with Design team leader Studio Evans Lane and the wider design team we prepared indicative CGIs of the initial ideas and proposals for the successful Levelling up fund Round 2 Bid
BRAVE NEW WORLD: NEW LONDON
This version of "New London" is built literally on top of the old city, as designed by an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence. In reality, it was masterplanned and designed by Tim Evans at Studio Evans Lane for the TV re-imagining of Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World”. My visuals were used to describe the designs to the studios, inform the FX team and even as backdrops in a couple of scenes.
BARKERS OF KENSINGTON
Working for Emrys Architects on their remodelling of the iconic Barkers of Kensington, I produced the verified views for their planning application but also these more evocative interior views for their Design and Access statement.
They were awarded planning permission in early 2023.VALE ROYAL
Emrys Architects were also granted planning permission for this mixed use scheme in North West London. I produced the verified and illustrative views for the project.
ARCHIMAKE'S ANTIPAVILLION
Archimake run workshops to teach children about design and architecture. I had a fantastic time working with them on their first ever real architectural competition entry for an "antipavillion" on the canal.
You can find out more about Archimake's brilliant workshops here.
EXTENSION INTERIOR STUDIES
A client extending their family house were having trouble picturing their architect's 2D planning application drawings. Over two days I modelled the extension and their furniture and incorporated the client's Pinterest mood board, so they could understand their brilliant new space and how it related to their garden. They also got to start thinking about the effects of different surface finishes.
The imagery was particular useful for describing clearly what they wanted to contractors during the build.
NEWCOMBE HOUSE
Asked by a residents' association to check the planning application imagery for a new tower, I found three extra views that needed to be considered by the enquiry.
QUICKSTEP
This competition image for an assisted living development was turned around in six hours including modelling. An exciting exercise in creating an atmosphere quickly.
CONCRETE LIFE
This image series, and the design, started as a demonstration to a client about what might fit on the site of a standard semi-detatched house. It soon took on a life of its own as we explored the aesthetic of secret caves, monastic cells, and Japanese "Wabi Sabi": the beauty of impermanence and imperfection, of nature and the handmade.
